These are the house rules for Sunday Market, a public 18+ Minecraft survival SMP for Java and Bedrock. Most communities need more; this one trusts adults to act like adults.

The two big ones
A fight is fine when both players agreed, when you're defending yourself, in an established rivalry, or in an organized event where joining counts as consent. PvP is off inside the protected spawn square, 401 × 401 blocks around 0, 0.
No spawn-camping, no chasing someone back from their grave, no targeting new players. Staff roll back items lost in a fight nobody agreed to. Loot from a consensual fight stays with the winner.
Lava-and-leave, looting an unattended chest and defacing a public build all end in a ban. A build in the wild belongs to its builder even without a sign or a Ward.
Big mining job near spawn or next to a public path? Put the terrain back when you finish.
Enforcement
Staff match the response to the offense and to whether it has happened before.

Appeals
Bans aren't permanent for first-time accidental violations, like stepping into someone's claim or breaking a friend's chest. Tell a staff member in game what happened. First-time honest mistakes get reversed; repeat or bad-faith violations don't.
