Sunday Market

Build for years, not for the next wipe.

Sunday Market is a public Minecraft survival SMP for Java and Bedrock with no scheduled resets. It is for players who want their builds to stay: one persistent world has run since June 2026, and it has never been wiped.

The reset policy

No scheduled resets. One persistent world since launch, snapshotted automatically while players are online.

In practice, no scheduled resets means no wipe date on the calendar and no seasonal map. Your base, your roads and your storage carry over from month to month.

Nobody can promise forever: hardware fails and games change. The promise here is narrower and easier to keep: no planned reset, and automatic backups.

How Minecraft updates are handled

The server runs Minecraft 26.1.2. Version-translation layers let newer and older clients join, so your game doesn't have to match the server exactly. Java: Java 26.1.2 – 26.3; recent older releases also connect. Bedrock: 26.30 – 26.51.

When a new Java release ships, the server updates that translation layer so the new client can join the same world.

Where new terrain comes from

The overworld border is 20,000 blocks across, centred on 0, 0, which puts the edge 10,000 blocks from spawn in every direction. All of that land is already generated, and most of it no player has visited yet.

When the border widens, land past the old edge generates the first time a player reaches it, and nothing already built has to move.

Backups and protection

The world is snapshotted automatically while players are online.

Wards protect your part of it. Buy a ward block with coins from /ward shop, place it, and other players can't break or build in your claim. The spawn area is a protected 401 × 401 block square around 0, 0. Griefing is against the house rules and gets rolled back.

Why it changes how you build

When the map has no wipe date, long projects make sense: roads between towns, a rail line, a storage hall you expand over months. Caravans, Work Orders and Wards all pay off for players who stay.

The world so far

  1. The world begins

The first terrain is saved, and every build since sits in that same save.
  2. A new host, a new name

The server moves to a new host. The world comes across intact and takes the name Omeyocan.
  3. The border doubles

The overworld border widens from 20,000 to 40,000 blocks across.
  4. Spawn is protected

    The 401 × 401 block square around 0, 0 becomes a protected region.
  5. The border comes back in

The border returns to 20,000 blocks across, the edge of the terrain generated so far.
  6. 31 accounts

31 accounts have joined, 19 of them on Bedrock.

Questions about the long-term world

Does Sunday Market ever reset the world?

No scheduled resets. One persistent world since launch, snapshotted automatically while players are online. The current world has run since June 2026.

What happens when Minecraft updates?

The server runs Minecraft 26.1.2 and uses version-translation layers so other client versions can join the same world. Java: Java 26.1.2 – 26.3; recent older releases also connect. Bedrock: 26.30 – 26.51.

Is the world backed up?

Yes. The world is snapshotted automatically while players are online.

Will there be new land to explore?

Yes. The overworld border is 20,000 blocks across, 10,000 blocks from spawn to the edge in every direction, and most of that land no player has visited yet.

What stops someone from wrecking my build?

Wards. Buy one with coins from /ward shop and place it, and other players can't break or build in your claim. Griefing is also against the house rules and gets rolled back.
