The Smeltery
Craft a Smeltery core, build its iron-and-cauldron shell, and get two outputs from eligible furnace recipes.
The Smeltery doubles the result of certain furnace recipes. One raw iron becomes two iron ingots; one sand becomes two glass. It uses ordinary furnace fuel and cooking time. To get the bonus, you need both the crafted Smeltery core and the surrounding 3 × 2 × 3 structure.
Craft the core
Put a 
furnace in the middle, surround its top and sides with five 
cobblestone, and put a 
comparator between two 
iron ingots along the bottom. Place the result like a furnace, with its opening facing you.
Build the shell
Stand in front of the core and face its furnace opening. Put an empty 
cauldron directly behind it. The structure is three blocks wide, three blocks deep, and two blocks high:

The shell uses 14 iron blocks, seven per layer. The space above the cauldron must be air; leaving the space above the furnace open makes its menu easy to reach. Add eligible input and fuel through that menu, then collect the doubled result from its output slot. If any required shell block is missing, the core still works as a furnace but gives the normal amount.
What doubles
- Iron ore, deepslate iron ore, and raw iron become two iron ingots.
- Gold ore, deepslate gold ore, Nether gold ore, and raw gold yield an extra furnace output.
- Copper ore, deepslate copper ore, and raw copper yield an extra furnace output.
- Sand and red sand become two glass; chorus fruit becomes two popped chorus fruit.
The bonus applies only to those inputs. Raw metal blocks, food, and unrelated furnace recipes cook normally. The output slot must have room for the extra item. An empty cauldron also has a small chance, about 1 in 90 completed smelts, to fill with lava.
