Trial chambers

Trial chambers work as they do in vanilla, with one change: a vault you have opened opens for you again after one hour. In vanilla, each vault opens only once per player, so a found chamber stays worth a return trip here.

Vaults

• A normal vault takes a Trial Key and an ominous vault takes an Ominous Trial Key, as in vanilla.
• Every player has their own timer on every vault. Opening one doesn't lock it for anyone else, and their visits don't lock it for you.
• One hour after you open a vault, it opens for you again. Normal and ominous vaults share the same one-hour wait.
• The loot is vanilla: the same reward tables a vault uses in any Minecraft world.

Reading a vault

Particles show a vault's state. Green sparkles mean it is ready to open; smoke means it is still cooling down. Ominous vaults show soul flames when ready and soul particles while cooling down. Trying a vault before its hour is up plays a low note and takes no key.

Finding a chamber

Trial chambers sit underground in the Overworld: corridors of copper and tuff with trial spawners in their rooms. Beat a trial spawner for Trial Keys. With Bad Omen, a chamber turns ominous, and its spawners drop Ominous Trial Keys.
