Elytra vault
Find an End Ship vault and claim its elytra with a Shulker Shell, even if another player has already visited the ship.
The elytra frame aboard an End Ship becomes a vault. Bring a 
Shulker Shell to open it. The vault offers an elytra to each player who unlocks it, so an earlier visitor does not empty the ship for everyone else.
Claim a pair of wings
- Reach the End's outer islands through an End Gateway and find an End City with a ship.
- Collect a Shulker Shell from a shulker if you do not already have one. Keep it with you while exploring the ship.
- Find the vault where the elytra frame would normally be. The display above it names the required shell.
- Use the Shulker Shell on the vault to claim your
elytra. The shell is consumed when the vault unlocks for you.
The vault tracks its reward separately for each player, so another explorer can return with their own shell and claim a pair from the same ship. This also means a ship that looks visited is still worth boarding when you need wings. Finding the ship remains the hard part: bring blocks for gaps between islands, a safe way home, and room for the elytra.
