Courier
A copper golem that carries items from one container to another, on foot — 16 at a time, with an optional seven-slot filter for what it may touch.
A Courier is the workhorse of the copper folk. Hand one a Courier Work Order and point it at two containers — it walks back and forth moving items from the first to the second, 16 per trip, one item type at a time, carried visibly in its hands. No more hand-hauling cobble from the mine chest to the storage room.
The recipe
How to use it
- Craft the Courier Work Order.— copper frame + paper + hopper
- Right-click a copper golem holding the Work Order.— the slip is consumed; a ✦ Courier nameplate appears
- Tap the pickup container — where items come from.— a 30-second bind window; the golem talks you through it in the action bar
- Tap the drop-off container — where items go.
That's it. The golem starts pacing between the two and shifting items across. Both containers must be within 48 blocks and in the same world, and Couriers walk — keep the path between them clear. Brewing stands count too: a Courier feeding one is smart about it, so blaze powder lands in the fuel slot.
Filtering what it carries
By default a Courier moves whatever it finds. To narrow that down, sneak and right-click the golem while holding another Courier Work Order — a little editor opens with 7 filter slots, a whitelist/blacklist toggle, and a Done button. Click items in your own inventory to add their types as ghost copies (nothing is taken from you, up to 7 types); click a slot to clear it; closing saves. An empty filter means everything.
Sneak first! Clicking a working golem with a Work Order without sneaking re-assigns the job and wipes its route. The full editor walkthrough is on Routes & Filters.
Relays — reaching the far base
A single Courier only goes as far as it can walk. To move goods across a distance, chain two of them through a shared chest:
- Courier A: your base chest → the shared chest
- Courier B: the shared chest → the far base chest
Items hop down the line one chest at a time. Add more links to reach further.
If one Courier can't keep up with the volume, bind several to the same route — they'll split the load.
Good to know
- Couriers move items only while a player is within 64 blocks of the golem or its containers — they're a helper, not an offline mover.
- Items are never duplicated or voided: a full drop-off means the golem holds the cargo and retries, and haul leftovers walk back to the pickup.
- Oxidation never slows it — a Courier works at full speed until it fully oxidises and freezes. A frozen one glows; wax with honeycomb to skip the worry. See Golem Care.
- The Work Order is consumed on assignment.

Stoker
A copper golem that keeps a furnace, smoker, or blast furnace fed — fuel to the fuel slot, smeltables to the input slot, and never the wrong thing crammed in.
