Connecting from Java Edition
PC, Mac, Linux. Add the server and connect.
Sunday Market runs the latest stable Minecraft version (Java Edition 26.1.x). Recent older Java releases connect via the version-compat layer — see Version compat.
| Address | marketsunday.com |
| Port | 25565 (default — usually omitted) |
Add the server
- Open Minecraft Java Edition.
- Click Multiplayer.
- Click Add Server.
- Server name: anything you want (
Sunday Marketworks). - Server address:
marketsunday.com - Click Done, then double-click the server entry to connect.
On first connect
You'll spawn at the welcome area with your starter kit already in your inventory — four stone tools — and a short welcome book that points you at the major systems. Nothing to unlock, no command to run; you're in. Read the house rules any time with /rules.
Account requirements
Sunday Market is online-mode, so you need a paid Java account. Cracked clients can't connect. (Bedrock players don't need a Java account — see Crossplay.)
Performance tips for Java
- Sodium / Iris: both fully allowed, both recommended
- OptiFine: allowed, but Sodium has better performance on most hardware
- Render distance: keep it reasonable; the server runs on a sane simulation distance and pushing client render very high doesn't help much past 8–10
- Shaders: allowed and encouraged
Troubleshooting
"Can't connect to server" — check that you typed the address correctly, including any subdomain or port. The Java port is the default 25565.
"Server out of date" / "Client out of date" — your Minecraft version doesn't match. The version-compat layer covers a wide range, but extreme outliers (very old or very new dev builds) may be rejected. Update to a current stable Java release.
